And so I’ve made some mistakes
In the past
Crashed my car
When I drank too fast
I’ve slowed down a little
In my ripe old age
Happy in my cage
Friends having babies
Buying new homes
I’m paying my bills
With credit card loans
I’ve worked real hard
Ain’t hardly got paid
This town is a big charade
You’re all drugs and kisses
We’re all drugs and kisses
And the dearly departed
Are you really up there
Down here we’re pretending
That we don’t care
But we’re scared and we’re angry
‘Cause we chewed off our tails
Just for higher sales
You’re all drugs and kisses
We’re all drugs and kisses
The summer’s almost over
I guess it was a good one
Didn’t find my four leaf clover
I bet I stepped on mine
You didn’t have to show me a good time
You did way more than that though
You showed me there was a reason for a rhyme
You’re all drugs and kisses
We’re all drugs and kisses

Power pop is a pretty formulaic genre -- a glorious formula, but still, predictable enough that lots and lots of bands can pull off a "perfect" blend of melody, harmony, jangle and crunch a time or two in the course of their careers. But I can't name another record that hits the magic spot EVERY SINGLE TRACK. This is so f$%#ing good. Craig O'Neill
