You must be fucking joking
Alright
Don’t you come around
Looking for a fight
Nobody’s gonna get their head kicked in
Tonight
A rock and roll hippie
That swears
Soon there won’t be anything
left to share
They shot and killed Gladly
The Kross-Eyed Bear
A white man in the fifties
Thought his life was rather nifty
The world was safe
And the good guys won
Now you’re old and dying
All that’s left of all your lying
Is a dirty rock
Burning in the sun
In the sun
In the sunshine
You must be fucking joking
Alright
Don’t you come around
Looking for a fight
Nobody’s gonna get their head kicked in
Tonight
A rock and roll hippie
That swears
Soon there won’t be anything
left to share
They shot and killed Gladly
The Kross-Eyed Bear
With my left foot on a soapbox
Sent my right one off to detox
Soon I’ll have happy feet again
And my heart is like a seal
Open, broken, peeled
Professor Jimmy says
This is the end
This is the end
This is the end my friend
Amen, amen, amen, amen
They shot and killed gladly
They shot and killed gladly
They shot and killed gladly
They shot and killed gladly
They shot and killed gladly
They shot and killed gladly
You must be fucking joking
Alright
Don’t you come around
Looking for a fight
Nobody’s gonna get their head kicked in
Tonight
A rock and roll hippie
That swears
Soon there won’t be anything
left to share
They shot and killed Gladly
The Kross-Eyed Bear
They shot and killed Gladly
The Kross-Eyed Bear
They shot and killed Gladly
The Kross-Eyed Bear
They shot and killed gladly.

Power pop is a pretty formulaic genre -- a glorious formula, but still, predictable enough that lots and lots of bands can pull off a "perfect" blend of melody, harmony, jangle and crunch a time or two in the course of their careers. But I can't name another record that hits the magic spot EVERY SINGLE TRACK. This is so f$%#ing good. Craig O'Neill
